In a notable turn of events, an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Ogba, Lagos, today,   discharged Comfort Emmanson , a passenger who faced allegations of disruptive behavior and assault aboard an Ibom Air flight.

The court’s decision came after the police formally withdrew the case, leading Presiding Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami to dismiss the five charges filed against Emmanson.

These charges included accusations that Emmanson had disturbed the tranquility on the plane, assaulted a crew member, and exhibited conduct that could be deemed a breach of public order.

Emmanson had maintained her innocence during her initial arraignment.

However, during today’s court session, Police Prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan updated the court, revealing that both the complainant and the airline had lost interest in pursuing the case.

Following her request to withdraw the charges, based on directives from police authorities, Magistrate Salami granted the motion, resulting in Emmanson’s discharge.
