Tantita Champions Inmate Rehabilitation with New Classroom Block at Warri Correctional Centre

In a bold display of corporate social responsibility and commitment to human development, Tantita Security Services Ltd (TSSL) has unveiled an 8-classroom block at the Medium Security Correctional Centre, Okere Road, Warri. The facility, constructed in partnership with the Delta State Government, is aimed at transforming the landscape of inmate rehabilitation through education.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony on Tuesday, the Managing Director of TSSL , Chief Keston Pondi emphasized that education remains the most powerful tool to rebuild lives, especially within correctional systems. “Our mission goes beyond security operations,” he stated. “We are here to invest in people, in futures, and in a society where second chances are possible.”
The initiative, which forms part of Tantita’s broader strategy to empower marginalized populations, marks a significant milestone in the company’s growing legacy of community engagement and social impact. By collaborating with the state government, Tantita is helping to bridge the gap between incarceration and meaningful reintegration.
Representing Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at the event, Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari, commended Tantita Security for setting a precedent in public-private partnership. “This is more than a building,” Prof. Tonukari said. “It’s a symbol of transformation. Tantita’s contribution shows that the private sector can play a critical role in building a safer, more inclusive society.”
The classrooms are designed to provide both academic and vocational training, offering inmates a structured path toward self-improvement and societal reintegration. The initiative aligns with Governor Oborevwori’s broader education policy, which prioritizes empowerment through learning and skill acquisition.
Tantita Security’s investment in this rehabilitation project further reinforces its reputation as a security firm with a human touch—blending operational excellence with a deep-rooted commitment to peacebuilding, reintegration, and social progress.
“This project is a call to action,” Chief Pondi concluded. “It reminds us that the security of any society is not just in arms or surveillance, but in the opportunities we provide for people to choose a better path.”
