Amori’s National Peace Award Nomination Highlights Delta’s Rapid Development Revolution
The Chief Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Distinguished Senator Chief Ighoyota Amori, has been nominated for the 2025 Nigeria Peace Ambassador Award, in recognition of his enduring contributions to leadership, peace-building and political development in Nigeria, with particular impact in Delta State.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Public Relations Officer, Joelson Wilson, the nomination was described as a national acknowledgment of Senator Amori’s over four decades of consistent and distinguished service in Nigeria’s political landscape.
According to the statement, the award reflects not only Senator Amori’s personal commitment to public service, but also the visible progress recorded in Delta State in recent years through his strategic advisory role to the Governor.
“For more than forty years, Senator Amori has remained a stabilising force in politics, an advocate of peaceful engagement, and a builder of institutions. This nomination is a recognition of a lifetime devoted to service, sacrifice and leadership,” the statement read.
Wilson noted that the honour also underscores the growing national recognition of the development strides being recorded by the Delta State Government across infrastructure, human capital development and governance reforms.
“This nomination speaks clearly to the impact of informed leadership and sound political counsel. Senator Amori’s advisory role has been instrumental in shaping policies and decisions that are now translating into tangible development across Delta State. The recognition therefore extends beyond him as a person and reflects on the government he serves,” he added.
Senator Amori is expected to be formally honoured during the 22nd edition of the Nigeria Peace Ambassador Awards, scheduled to hold on Friday, December 5, 2025, in Asaba. The ceremony will coincide with the unveiling of multiple editions of Bravins Magazine International and will host prominent figures from government, business and civil society.
Over the decades, Senator Amori has remained a central figure in Delta politics, widely respected for his depth of experience, commitment to political stability and dedication to the advancement of good governance.
The statement further described the nomination as “a milestone in a long and impactful career”, adding that it would further inspire public servants and political actors across the country to prioritise service, integrity and peace in leadership.
“As Delta State continues its development journey, this recognition reinforces the importance of experienced leadership and visionary counsel in governance,” Wilson concluded.
