Delta Gov. Orders Statewide Screening of Political Appointees: A Step Towards Transparency?

As a routine measure to confirm the status of political appointees in the state public service,the Governor of Delta State,Rt Hon Elder Sheriff Oborevwori has constituted a verification committee to screen all such appointees based on the following terms of reference: 

To conduct physical verification of Political Appointees in Delta State with a view to confirming their status;

To produce a report on the outcomes of the verification exercise;

To carry out any other assignment incidental to the verification exercise.

According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government(SSG)Dr.Kingsley Eze Emu the exercise will allow for periodic checks on the appointees in order to confirm exits due to natural causes,migration or other factors.
