As part of ongoing efforts to digitise the Delta State Executive Council (Exco) meeting process, members of the State Executive Council are undergoing a comprehensive training workshop aimed at transitioning from manual to fully digital meetings.

The training, which commenced in December 2025, continued with a courtesy and technical training visit to the office of the Chief Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Senator Chief Ighoyota Amori, a statutory member of the State Executive Council.

The initiative is designed to modernise Exco proceedings chaired by the Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, by eliminating the traditional paper-based process and adopting a secure digital platform that allows seamless participation and decision-making.

The training team was led by the Delta State Webmaster and Project Manager, Mr. Louis Osiobe, alongside the Project Lead from the consulting firm, Mr. Oluwadare Matthew, Assistant Project Manager Mr. Odema Christopher, and the Director of Cabinet, Mr. Anderson Akarueta.

Receiving the team, Senator Amori expressed deep appreciation to the Governor for what he described as a bold and forward-looking innovation in governance.

“This technological approach will significantly enhance participation, especially for members who are on official assignments within or outside the state. It ensures that no one is left out of critical discussions and contributions,” he said.

Reflecting on his long years of service, Senator Amori noted that he has attended Executive Council meetings since 1999, beginning as Commissioner for Education, and has served across successive administrations for over 27 years.

“This initiative clearly demonstrates that the M.O.R.E Agenda will be realised much earlier than anticipated. With this platform, projects and bills can be considered and approved efficiently without necessarily convening a physical meeting,” he added.

Speaking during the session, Mr. Osiobe said the initiative places Delta State on a fast track in the use of technology for effective governance.

“This training is to equip Exco members with the skills required to use modern digital tools, having been accustomed to manual processes over the years. For the next three months, meetings will run on both digital and manual platforms to allow a smooth transition before the manual process is completely phased out,” he explained.

The digital Exco initiative is part of the Oborevwori administration’s broader commitment to innovation, efficiency, and inclusive governance under the M.O.R.E Agenda, further positioning Delta State as a pacesetter in technology-driven public administration.
