Makinde Declares ‘End to PDP Crisis,’ Unveils New Oyo Secretariat
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has declared an end to internal disruptions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, saying stability and unity have returned to the party.
Governor Makinde made the declaration during the inauguration of the new Oyo State PDP secretariat located at Oke-Ado, Ibadan.
At the ceremony, the PDP National Chairman, Dr. Kabiru Turaki, SAN, officially unveiled the secretariat, which was donated to the party by Governor Makinde. The donation was widely described as a strong demonstration of the governor’s commitment to the growth, stability and institutional development of the PDP in Oyo State and across the country.
Speaking at the event, Makinde said the completion of the secretariat signaled a new phase of order and unity within the party, stressing that sanity had returned to its affairs. He, however, distanced the Oyo State Government from the PDP’s internal legal disputes and national leadership tussles, emphasizing that such matters remain strictly party issues.
The governor also announced that the new building would be named after the Oyo State PDP Chairman, Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha. He added that the property would be formally handed over to the party’s board of trustees for proper management.
