Uvwie Monarch Unveils Autobiography, Calls for Unity, National Renewal

The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, Emmanuel E. Sideso Abe I, has presented his autobiography, Odyssey of Royalty: The Reign of Abe I, describing the book as a truthful record of his personal journey and the collective progress of the Uvwie people.

The public presentation and launch of the autobiography took place on February 14, 2026, at the Ovie of Uvwie Palace in Effurun, Delta State, attracting top government officials, traditional rulers and distinguished guests from across the country.

In his keynote address, Abe I expressed gratitude to God and the people of Uvwie Kingdom, noting that the autobiography was written to preserve authentic history and document the kingdom’s transformation during his reign.

He said the book chronicles his transition from a professional career to the responsibilities of the throne, emphasizing that it captures the challenges, milestones and shared achievements of the kingdom.

Reflecting on his background, the monarch highlighted his 30-year career at the Nigerian Mint and celebrated the professional accomplishments of his family, describing them as evidence of divine favor and dedication to service.

Stating that t his 18-year reign has been marked by purposeful leadership, transparency and inclusive development,  he cited the construction of the multi-million naira Uvwie Palace and improvements in economic growth and public infrastructure as key achievements under his administration.

He commended the resilience and unity of the Uvwie people, attributing the kingdom’s relative peace and progress to collective effort and shared vision.

Addressing national issues, the monarch praised the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu for pursuing policies aimed at repositioning Nigeria for growth, the monarch  called for national unity and the development of a workable constitution that guarantees justice and fairness for all Nigerians.

He  also raised concerns over rising airfares and insecurity, urging airlines to consider reducing ticket costs in the interest of national development. He stressed that government alone cannot solve Nigeria’s challenges and called on traditional and religious leaders to collaborate in promoting unity, compassion and economic empowerment.

The monarch expressed appreciation to Delta State Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori for infrastructural projects in Uvwie Kingdom and continued support for the Uvwie Education and Scholarship Scheme initiated by former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. He also acknowledged the contributions of former governors James Ibori and Emmanuel Uduaghan to the kingdom’s development.

He concluded by urging Nigerians to remain steadfast and hopeful, expressing confidence that the nation would overcome its present challenges.
