Idama Pulls Out Of Service , Urges Stakeholders In Water Sector, Consumers To Embrace Regulations

The immediate past Director-General of the Delta State Water Sector Regulatory Commission, Engineer Henry Onwordi Idama, has urged managers and consumers in the water industry to embrace regulations in the State in order to standardize the system for effective service delivery.

Idama, who made the assertions in Asaba during his 60th birthday and pulling out ceremony, said that the staff of the Commission were irrevocably committed to realizing the mandate of the Water Sector Regulatory Commission.

He noted that the Water Sector Regulatory Commission had continued to sensitize the general public about its objectives and the importance of adhering to regulations, adding that there was need for the Commission to be given more support by the Ministry of Water Resources Development.

Idama, however, described his successful retirement from service as one of his best moments, stressing that though the journey had been ups and downs , he expressed gratitude to God for seeing him through.

At the Office of the Water Sector Regulatory Commission where his staff organized a befitting send forth and birthday party in his honour , some stakeholders including a retired Permanent Secretary in Ministry of Water Resources Development, Engineer Blessing Edewor, former General Manager of the State Water Corporation, Engineer Nosa Okoh, Mr. Emeka David Ohaegbu, Mr. Victor Osemeke and the Director of Administration and Finance in the Commission, Mr. Ben Asenime as well as a retired Director, Mr. Teddy Agbeyeke described Engineer Henry Idama as a go-getter and an accomplished administrator.

They affirmed that the celebrant impacted positively on their lives in several ways, emphasizing that he believes in getting results at all times.

Earlier , the Ag. Director-General of the State Water Sector Regulatory Commission, Mrs. Josephine Ayomike said that their outgoing DG was a man of integrity, diligent, humble and a team player, who according to her derives joy in carrying his staffers along in the scheme of things .

While assuring that they would build on the foundation Engineer Idama had laid , especially in ensuring that water consumption is subjected to standard so as to meet the hygiene requirements for the overall good of Deltans, Ayomike stated that she had benefited a lot from his wealth of knowledge.

 

The elder brother of the celebrant , Chief Chiedu Idama, JP and the wife of the celebrant, Mrs. Priscilla Idama in an interview explained that they were happy that the celebrant has retired not only in good health but attained the position of the Director-General and thanked God for the protection upon his life 

Chief Idama stated that his younger brother had left one stage of his life for another stage and advised him to take any opportunities that come to his way, just as he said that his brother had always displayed uncommon brilliance and Innovations throughout before and during his career in civil service.
