WOFII Celebrates International Women’s Day In Delta, Assures Of Supporting Women In Their Businesses For Sustainable Future

Working Fingers International Initiative in partnership with Nigerian Association of Women Entrepreneurs (NAWE), Delta State Chapter has reiterated its determination to creating access to financial opportunities for women who are able to save and organize themselves in groups.

Speaking during the International Women’s Day celebration held in Asaba with the theme : Right, Justice and Action for all women and girls, the founder, Working Fingers International Initiative (WOFII), a Non profit, business management organization, Amb. Dr. Eris Jewo-Ibi said that March 8 every year was set aside to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about disparities and articulate action to bridge the gender gap in the society.

Amb Eris, who is also the President of Working Fingers Multi Purpose Society, stated that the group had been mentoring the women in small business particularly on how to sustain their businesses for the overall benefits of their families.

She described women as very supportive to their families and key to nation building, adding that women should be given their pride of place in any society.

Amb Eris stated that the women, especially widows, had continued to cater for their families, paying their children’s school fees and other needs of the family with support from their families.

She called on women to always support one another to achieve greatness, emphasizing that no woman should be an obstacle to women .

In her remarks, the Director, Nigeria Association of Entrepreneurs, Amb. Philomena Badaiki explained that members of the group are made up of hardworking, responsible , committed and reliable women affirmed that most of the women in the Association are women- heading households and gate keepers of their various families.

Highpoints of the ceremony was the presentation of wrappers and little token to support their businesses .
