Omagbemi Stresses Importance Of Career Day In Children’s Lives

The Head teacher of Mgbala Model Primary School, Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Mrs. Rita Omagbemi has underscored the importance of career day in the lives of that children.
Omagbemi stated this in Okpanam on the occasion of the career day celebration of the school.
She said that the event was organized to expose the pupils of the school to different occupations such as doctors, teachers, lawyers, engineers, nurses , soldiers and entrepreneurs, adding that the career the children choose for themselves would help to shape their future and the future of the nation.
Omagbemi, who stated that various professionals in different fields have been invited to speak to the pupils so as to share their challenges and achievements, which according to her would help the children learn that success comes from hard work, discipline, determination and education.
The Head teacher urged the pupils to listen attentively, ask questions and learn from the experiences of the guest speakers and begin to discover their talents and interests, just as she reminded them that every great person they admire today once started as a pupil like them .
Earlier in their separate presentations a Principal State Counsel from the Delta State Ministry of Justice, Barr. Mrs. Oke Eyesio , the Principal of Okpanam High School, Mr. Williams Dickson, Nurse Susan Oruno, Mr. Nkemdilim Boi , Engineer Great Emar’s and Mrs . Joy Emetonjor advised the children to follow the right career path for their own benefits and enjoined them to always take their studies seriously.
They lauded the Head teacher of the school, Mrs. Rita Omagbemi for always organizing career day for the children, noting that the initiative was a welcome development.
Barr. Mrs. Eyesio told the pupils that they needed to obtain credit pass in English Language, Literature in English and other relevant subjects and pass UTME for them to qualify to study law , stressing that lawyers work in different courts and several organizations.
Dickson implored the children to be committed and focused in realizing their chosen career.
Speaking further, Nurse Oruno explained that for one to qualify as a Nurse , one must have studied nursing in a recognized government health Institution and not a private organization, saying that nursing is a good profession.
On their part, Emar’s and Mrs. Emetonjor said that engineering and teaching professions were unique, problem solving professions , even as Emar’s stated that engineers construct equipment and technologies that help mankind.
In his remarks, Rev. Fr. Anthony Okolie admonised parents to allow their children to choose their career and put God first in their lives of the children.
