Ashibogwu Commends Stanbic IBTC for Donating School Facilities to Alegbo Primary School

Delta State Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, has commended the management of Stanbic IBTC Bank for donating critical school infrastructure to Alegbo Primary School in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

 

The donated facilities included a block of four classrooms, a borehole water system, an ICT centre, and modern toilet facilities,all aimed at improving the learning environment for pupils and reducing the infrastructural burden on the government.

 

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Dr. Ashibogwu described the gesture as timely and impactful. According to him, the bank’s intervention would go a long way in enhancing academic performance and ensuring a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.

 

“This kind gesture from Stanbic IBTC Bank to our school today will not only benefit the pupils of Alegbo Primary School but also serve as a great relief to the state government,” Ashibogwu said.

 

The Commissioner also pledged a continued partnership between the Delta State Government and the bank, emphasising the importance of collaboration in developing the education sector.

 

“As a state government, we will continue to partner with the management of the bank to better serve our people. We all know that government cannot do it alone,it requires all hands on deck,” he added.

 

Dr. Ashibogwu used the opportunity to call on other corporate organisations and public-spirited individuals to emulate Stanbic IBTC Bank by investing in community development projects, particularly in the education sector.

 

“I am calling on all well-meaning Nigerians and corporate bodies to give back to the society, especially in the communities where they operate,” he urged.

 

During the event, the Commissioner also took time to inspect the newly commissioned facilities, assess the academic performance of pupils, and evaluate the state of other school buildings.

 

He was received and conducted around the school by the Chief Inspectors of Education (CIEs) for Uvwie and Warri South LGAs, Mrs. Sylvia Bukata and Dr. Samson Ugbejeh, respectively.

 

The occasion marked a significant step in the public-private partnership drive of the state government and highlighted the growing role of corporate social responsibility in advancing basic education in Delta State.
