Mokogwu Emerges Oshimili South NUT Chairman, Promises Effective Leadership

A seasoned educationist in Delta State and a teacher in Westend Mixed Secondary School, Asaba, Comrade Chiedu Joseph Mokogwu, has emerged the new chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) for Oshimili South Local Government Area.

Speaking to newsmen after the just concluded NUT Delegates election held in Asaba, the State Capital, Comrade Mokogwu commended the delegates for their unwavering support and for finding him worthy to serve in such exalted leadership position.

Comrade Mokogwu, who assured members of the Union of his avowed commitment to provide services with dignity and with the fear of God, said that his executives would put the interests of all NUT members in Oshimili South above personal interest and operate open door policy for the overall benefits of the Union.

He stated that his administration would strive to build the NUT Branch Secretariat, open Union account with a view to ensure, prudent financial management, transparency and accountability as well as prioritize the restoration of the welfare of all schools in the area.

Comrade Mokogwu promised to build on the existing peace and unity in the Union, urging all teachers within Oshimili South to support and cooperate with the new executives of the Nigerian Union of Teachers in Oshimili South.

He promised to do everything humanly possible to justify the confidence reposed in them .

Meanwhile, a stakeholder in the Union and the Chairperson of All Nigerian Conference of Principal of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) , Oshimili South Chapter, Mrs. Augusta Ogeah, who is the Principal of Westend Mixed Secondary School, Asaba and other respondents described the choice of Comrade Mokogwu as the NUT Chairman as a welcome development.

Mrs. Ogeah, who just bagged the 2025 Post Primary Education Board (PPEB) Best Performing Principal’s Award In Delta State, explained that Comrade Mokogwu was a dedicated staff of her school, very focused, accessible and reliable in all ramifications.
