St. Brigid’s Girls’ Grammar School Old Girls Hold Maiden Homecoming, Mark 60 Years of Academic Excellence

The St. Brigid’s Old Girls’ Association has marked the 60th anniversary of the founding of St. Brigid’s Girls’ Grammar School with a four-day reunion held in Asaba from December 11 to 14, 2025.

The anniversary programme themed REUNION AND RENEWAL : CELEBRATING YESTERDAY AND UNBOXING TOMORROW…HOMECOMING 2025 featured a series of activities aimed at commemorating the school’s founding and strengthening alumni engagement.

Activities began with a health walk, followed by an interactive session between alumae and students of the school. The session focused on mentorship and career guidance. A meet-and-greet event later provided an opportunity for former classmates to reconnect which also provided an opportunity for a lecture on Mental Health issues.

On the second day, a novelty football match was played between the 1991 set and a combined team comprising the 1992, 1993 and 1994 sets. The day also featured a courtesy visit to the Asagba of Asaba,HRM Prof. Epiphany Chibuogu Azinge SAN.

The third day was devoted to the Annual General Meeting of the St. Brigid’s Old Girls’ Association.While Obi Onyemanaogaeme Chukwuemekalim Ajufoh chaired the meeting, Dr. (Mrs)Minnie Oseji delivered the keynote address. Awards were presented to past principals of the school, selected alumnae who taught in the school after graduation and staff in recognition of their service to the institution.

The meeting also saw the dissolution of the protem executive council and the election of new officers to lead the association for the next 3 years.

The anniversary events concluded with a thanksgiving service at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church.Asaba.

The reunion formed part of efforts by the alumni body to sustain the school’s legacy and promote continued support for its growth.
