SOV Spreads Across Delta, Strengthens Oborevwori’s Inclusive Leadership
The Sheriff Oborevwori Vanguard (SOV) has continued to strengthen grassroots political engagement across Delta State, positioning itself as a disciplined and people-driven support movement committed to good governance, unity, and democratic stability.
Formed by loyal supporters, community leaders, youths, women, and professionals, SOV was birthed out of deep belief in the leadership philosophy of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori—a leader widely known for humility, inclusiveness, and governance that prioritizes the ordinary citizen.
Speaking on the mission of the Vanguard, its National President, Chief Emmanuel Arawore, described SOV as “a movement of conviction, not convenience,” stressing that the group exists to support governance, defend the people’s mandate, and promote peace at all levels of political participation.
With structures spread across the three senatorial districts, SOV operates at state, local government, and community levels, mobilizing grassroots support through civic education, political sensitization, and voter engagement.
Despite challenges of funding and logistics common to grassroots movements, the Vanguard has remained focused, disciplined, and loyal—attributes that have earned it credibility and growing acceptance among political stakeholders in the state.
SOV maintains cordial relationships with other political support groups, emphasizing collaboration over rivalry, and unity over division.
As Delta State moves towards future elections, the Vanguard says it remains committed to peaceful mobilization, political education, and sustained support for people-centred governance.
