Aniemeka Tasks Okpanam Residents On PVC Registration

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Community Development, Chief Chibueze Pino Aniemeka, has urged residents of Okpanam, particularly individuals from 18 years and above without Permanent Voters’ Card to take advantage of the ongoing PVC registration exercise to register.

Aniemeka, an engineer and a chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oshimili North Local Government Area made the call in Okpanam country home while speaking with journalists.

He told those that were yet to register for their PVC to do register to enable them contribute their quota to the development of the community, the state and Nigeria at large by voting in every election to choose their leaders.

Aniemeka, whose Chieftaincy title is the Egbebeliugobeli 1 of Okpanam Kingdom, reminded the people that their power depended on their voters’ card, noting that every responsible person must have voters’card and exercise their franchise during electioneering period .

The renowned community leader informed the people that the leadership of Oshimili North Council, led by the Council Chairman, Hon. Innocent Esenwezie had provided bus in some communities including Okpanam at a specific dates to convey those that wanted to register for their Permanent Voters’ Card to and fro Akwukwu-Igbo for the exercise.

Aniemeka said that Okpanam community had continued to produce the highest votes in Oshimili North, adding that there was need to increase its voting population strength by participating actively in the ongoing the voters registration.

He said that the community had benefited from the human capital and infrastructural development initiative of the state government under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the immediate past administration of Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa.

Aniemeka, however, lauded residents of the community for their peaceful dispositions and unwavering support for the government of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, assuring the governor that the people of Okpanam community would give him overwhelming votes come 2027.
