The Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, has asserted that the Junior Engineers , Technicians and Scientists (JETS) competition was a critical platform designed to encourage the passion for sciences by the learners.

Ezewu stated this in Asaba during the state finals of the JETS competition for junior and senior secondary categories.

The Education Commissioner, who was represented by the Director in the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Hope Igumbor, recalled that Delta State was unable to get prizes at the national level of the last edition of JETS competition because the state could not have much projects to display.

Ezewu assured that the state would do much better this year at the national stage of the competition.

She said that participants for junior category would be tested in mathematics, computer science and basic sciences , noting that the senior category would be accessed in mathematics, chemistry, physics , biology and computer science .

Ezewu stated that the best three in each of the categories would represent Delta State at the national stage of the competition, just as she implored the learners to do their best in order to come out victorious to represent the state.
