The Member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ngozi Okolie, has rounded off the year 2025 with a robust engagement with youth leaders across the constituency, reeling out his achievements and reaffirming his commitment to inclusive governance .

Rt. Hon. Okolie gave the assurance yesterday ,(30/12/2025)while meeting with Presidents and representatives of community youth bodies from Oshimili North, Oshimili South, Aniocha North and Aniocha South Local Government Areas.

Explaining the purpose of the meeting, the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker said he deliberately decided to engage directly with community youths rather than operating strictly along party lines, adding that youths remain the most effective bridge to the wider community.

“I realized that many of our people do not really know what I am doing as their representative. So I felt it was important to reach out directly to them. Most times, we sidetrack the real people and work only through the party. But when you relate with community youths, you are reaching the entire community.”

Okolie dismissed suggestions that the engagement was politically motivated, stressing that the meeting had nothing to do with the 2027 general elections.”

He said “This is not about 2027. I am only interested in informing my people about what I have done as their representative. I am the incumbent, and whatever I do should not be seen as politics” he added.

Okolie assured the youths that such engagements would be sustained, promising consistent consultations and their inclusion in decision making processes to ensure effective representation.

He also expressed readiness to meet with constituents whenever the need arises.

“I will make this meeting consistent going forward. The youths will be carried along. Where possible, we will touch every community, and where we cannot, we will seek government intervention so that everyone benefits from our tenure,” he said.

Responding, the Coordinator of Community Youths in Aniocha North, Comrade Edozien Emmanuel, commended Okolie for his achievements but urged him to intensify efforts at publicizing his projects across the constituency.

“I was not aware of many of the projects he has executed and the ongoing ones. Some people may even be taking glory for them. He should take these details to the four local government areas and tell the people,” Emmanuel said.

He also advised the lawmaker to consult communities on their priority needs before embarking on new projects.

Similarly, the President General of Community Youths in Aniocha South, Mr. Stanley Cheru, applauded Okolie’s developmental strides and called for consistency in engaging with youth stakeholders.
