Gunmen Attack Police on “Stop and Search Duty” In Delta

Gunmen attacked police on “stop and search duty” yesterday evening at Kowen plaza in Asaba, Delta State.

A police officer died during the attack while others sustained serious machete cut from the hoodlums who disarmed them.

After the incident, the suspected hoodlums, made away with two service rifles belonging to the policemen and a pistol.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Mustafa, when contacted on Saturday morning confirmed the report.

He said, “It happened between 7-8pm. A Policeman died during the attacks. They carted away two rifles and a pistol. The Police is investigating the matter and I assure you that we will get to the root.”
