Take Advantage of Government Micro-Credit Programmes to Improve on Your Production Capacity – Gov. Okowa
The Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, has advised the people of Tuomo kingdom in Burutu local government area of Delta State to take advantage of the various scheme of government, particularly the State micro-credit programme and the Anchor borrowers of the central bank to improve on their production capacities.
Governor Okowa, who gave the advise at the presentation of staff of office to His Royal Majesty, Hon. Justice Francis F. Tabal. Con Jsc Rtd. Pere Esuku 1, the EBENANAWEI 1 of Tuomo kingdom in Burutu local government area of Delta State, urged the people of the community to form co-operative societies so as to access credit facilities to add value to their harvest.
Governor Okowa who was represented at the ceremony by his Deputy. Deacon Barrister Kingsley Otuaro congratulated HRM Hon. Justice Tabal on his appointment and ascension to the throne.
Governor Okowa who was delighted at the processes that eventually led to the installation of the Monarch stated that “it is particularly commendable that the processes leading to today’s ceremony were carried out peacefully. It is a good example that every community should emulate.
“I have no doubt that the institution of the Ebenanawei has great significance for the people of Tuomo kingdom and as such, you will all strive to promote the integrity of the stool by according His Royal Majesty, the respect he truly deserve”.he said
“I urge you therefore to give him your fullest support and co-operation”, He added.
He told the people that they are very lucky to have such a high calibre personality as their paramount ruler, pointing out that as a former Justice of the supreme Court of Nigeria, he surely has alot to offer to the kingdom, the Ijaw nation, Delta State and Nigeria in general.
He appealed to the Monarch to discharge his responsibilities in a transparent manner by being fair and just as a father of all his subjects.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Burutu local government area, Hon Godknows Angele in his welcome address, commended the State governor for his Wisdom in transforming the entire state as well as his good counsel in recognising the role of traditional rulers in peace building and development of their communities.
The traditional ruler also expressed his appreciation to State government for officially recognising him as the Ebenanawei of Tuomo kingdom just as he promised to operate open door policies in bringing peace and development to his people.
Government functionaries across Delta State including the Bayelsa State Governor, ably represented by one of his aides, the former Governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, traditional rulers from across the two states including the Orodje of Okpe kingdom the orhue 1, were also at the epoch making event.
