Okowa Promise Team Delta Cash Reward on Medals

Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has promised to give Team Delta N1m for each gold medal, N500,000 for silver medal and N250,000 for bronze medas that will be won at the 19th National Sports Festival at Abuja.

Okowa made the promise at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, today,while addressing the State contingent Team Delta, shortly before their departure for the event, which is to commence on Thursday 6 December , 2018.

He said “…there is no team that will be like Team Delta and I believe your coaches have been doing very well; for every gold, you will get N1 Million, so, if you are not prepared for gold, work harder to get gold; for every Silver medalist N500, 000 while every Bronze medalist will get N250, 000”.

The State governor added that, “you are going to Abuja in the name of God and as you go forth, the Lord will not disappoint you, you must first believe in Him and I expect you, knowing that you are the defending champion to return victorious.”

Earlier, Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Mr Tonobok Okowa who presented the team to the governor, said that the team has been in training camp for three weeks, in preparation for the event.

Chaplain of Government House Chapel, Ven. Charles Osemenem in a brief sermon urged the team to rely on God and give Him the glory always.

The event featured special prayers and worship sessions.
