Kingsley Emu Assures of Better Development In Delta

Delta State Commissioner of Economic Planning, Hon.Kingsley Emu has assured that the 2019 budget will enable the current administration do better on development than it has done in its first three years in office.
The Economic Planning Commissioner gave the assurance yesterday, 20 Febuary, 2019, in Asaba, during the Citizen Engagement Forum on Delta State 2019 Budget.
He stated that the administration of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has been making conscious effort to ensure that the state has a higher capital expenditure than recurren.
Hon. Emu explained that the allocated N230billion for capital expenditure will would assist the government’s investment in private sector which will in turn yield positive effect on the overall development of the state.
Emu said, “For the third year running, our budget has had capital expenditure higher than the recurrent expenditure, which is good”.
He added that, the recurrent expenditure at 40.24 percent would have been lesser but for the inclusion of workers arrears.
Emu disclosed that over N73billion will accrue from the Internally generated revenue while over N210billion would be derived from Statutory Allocation.
