INEC withholds Certificates of Return of three Delta APC HoA members elect

Three All Progressive Congress (APC) and one Peoples Democratic Party Members elect for the Delta State House of Assembly were today denied their certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The affected APC members include, Anidi Innocent Emosivwe for Ethiope East, Oniyere Charles Whanoroho for Ughelli North 1 and Ughelli North 2, Egbo Jaro Movudu.

Also, Ochor Christopher, PDP member elect for Ukwani constituency, was among those denied the certificate.

The National Commissioner of INEC, Mohammed Lecky, who presented Certificate of Return to the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Barr. Kingsley Esiso and other House of Assembly elect, at the INEC office, Asaba, revealed that the certificates were denied as a result of “pending legal issues”.

In his remarks, Governor Okowa  observed that “the election was adjudged as very peaceful in Delta State.”

Continuing, Okowa called on all Deltans to actively participate in governance in the next four years starting from May 29, stating, “we cannot do the job alone; with collaborative efforts, partnership, the job will be easier and to the satisfaction of all.”
