Delta E-WASH coordinator laud commissioner for commitment to duty

The E-WASH team leader in Delta State, Mr Adeyemi Mark Adedayo has lauded the State Commissioner for Water Resources Development, Sir Fidelis Tilije, for his commitment to duty and service oriented personality which has impacted positively on the water sector.

Mr Adedayo who gave the commendation in Asaba, during the signing of the Service Improvement Plan(SIP) said that that the document was part of the agreement between the Ministry of Water Resources Development and E-WASH in the area of providing improvement for the water supply, sanitation and hygiene services in the State.

The team leader noted that the official paper would provide guidelines for the implementation of the E-WASH intervention in the state.

According to the State E- WASH coordinator, the outlined guidelines of activities the intervention would achieve includes; addressing institutional and legal policy issues, strengthening governance and organizational structure and re-engineer effective and internal working mechanism as well as provide support for the state government in the area of improving its capacity of water supply, sanitation and hygiene so that all Deltans would have access to WASH services.

In his remarks shortly after signing the Service Improvement Plan, the state commissioner for Water Resources Development, Sir Fidelis Tilije, who recalled that the State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa had shown strong commitment towards giving the water sector a face lift, recalled that water was sensitive to the overall well-being of the the people.

Sir Tilije used the occasion to appreciate Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for giving him the opportunity to serve in a critical area of his administration.

He also lauded the various international donor agencies especially the European Union, UNICEF and USAID for their collaboration with his ministry its determination to provide water supply, sanitation and hygiene facilities.
