DSIEC releases screening schedule for candidates of council elections
The Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, (DSIEC) will on Monday, January 11, commence the verification of personal particulars submitted by candidates vying for various elective positions in the March 6 local government election.
DSIEC, in a statement issued by its Chairman, Chief Mike Ogbodu, says candidates from Burutu, Bomadi and Patani will be screened in Group 1, Warri north, Warri south – west and Warri south in Group 2, while those from Isoko north and south will be verified in Group 3.
The screening takes place from 9am to 4pm.
On Tuesday, January 12, also between the hours of 9am and 4pm, candidates from Ughelli north, Ughelli south and Uvwie are to be screened in Group 1, Ethiope east, Okpe and Sapele in Group 2 and Udu and Ethiope west in Group 3.
Ndokwa east, Ndokwa west and Ukwuani, coming in Group 1, will take their turn on Wednesday, January 13, same with Oshimili south, Oshimili north and Aniocha south in Group 2, as well as Ika north – east, Ika south and Aniocha north in Group 3.
The statement adds that the verification exercise will take place at DSIEC’s Headquarters Office on km 8, Asaba/Onitsha expressway, Asaba.
Candidates have also been asked to wear their face masks to the screening venue.
