WACOL, Ford Foundation organizes two-day advocacy training for women in Delta
Women Aid Collective (WACOL) in collaboration with Ford Foundation has started a two-day advocacy training for women in Delta State.
The training exercise held today, at Asaba, seeks to train women across the State on women’s right advocacy, leadership, as well as a fifty-fifty Action plan for the elimination of violence against women and girls in the State.
Head of communication of WACOL, Mrs Egodi said the program is targeted at translating and transforming social norms in the South- South and South-East of Nigeria through engagement, right advocacy, traditional and Judicial institution.
Mrs Egodi observed that the project will also ensure the elimination if violence against Women and girls (VAWG) and it’s operationalization in the Southern region of the country.
Earlier, goodwill messages were received from the Omu of Okpanam, HRM Obi Martha Dunkwu, Hon. Chinwe Olarewaju, Deputy Director of Center for Gender and Development Studies of DELSU, Prof Joyce Ogwezi, Representative from the Delta State Ministry of Justice, Mrs Ijeoma Nwanze, among others.
