Delta NAWOJ Marks International Day of The Girl Child

The Chairperson, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists NAWOJ, Delta State Chapter, Comrade Sonia Unobunjo has said the girl child can attain whatever level of success she wants to achieve in life if only she could dedicate her time, and be committed to it.

Unobunjo stated this when she led the executive and members of the NAWOJ to Government Model Secondary Asaba, in commemoration of the 2022 International Day of the Girl Child (IDGC).

Comrade Unobunjo admonished female students of the school to always have confidence in themselves, work hard by giving extra time to their studies and always aim high.

She added that, there is no limit to the hight which the girl child can attain , as she cited the likes of Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and other notable women who are making waves in our society today started from smaller level.

Fielding questions from the female students who bared their minds on several challenging issues, comrade Unobunjo gave some positive advise while encouraging them to be steadfast.

The United Nations declared the International Day of the Girl Child as an annual event to be celebrated on October 11 across the world.

2022 IDGC has its theme as “Our time is now- Our right, Our future.
