Anti-Party: Group calls for Disciplinary Action Against Delta PDP Youth Leader, Victor Egbo
The leadership of the Delta State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have been urged to take disciplinary action against its State Youth leader, Victor Egbo, for allegedly endorsing the candidate of another political party.
Speaking with Journalists today, at Asaba, the spokesperson of the Concerned Isoko Youths PDP Faithfuls, Amb. Ugagaoghene Ogheneyole, accused the youth leader of charging the people of Oleh community, in Isoko South Local Government Area of the State, to vote against the PDP House of Representatives Candidate for Isoko South Federal Constituency, Jonathan Ukhodiko.
Ogheneyole who maintained that the chastisement of Egbo is necessary also said that the latter openly endorsed the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for Isoko South Federal Constituency, Hon. Dickson Ebegbare , during a campaign held at Oleh, on 30th December, 2022.
While expressing their disappionment at the action of the youth leader, they called on the party leaders to take decisive step to order prevent its reoccurrence.
“I am here today, as a concerned PDP member of Isoko extraction to address the deliberate actions of the state PDP youth leader Mr Victor Egbo to veer off the tenets of Party loyalty and supremacy by undermining Isoko PDP with actions capable ridiculing our much cherishes respect for constitutional democracy.
“It is with utter disappointment that we members of Isoko PDP Youth faithfuls are calling the Leadership of Delta State PDP to review and take steps to forestall anti party activities in public glare as demonstrated by Victor Egbo when he endorsed the candidature of SDP flag bearer in Isoko federal constituency.
“It is no longer news that Victor Egbo who is currently the PDP youth leader attended an SDP campaign function in Oleh on the 30th of December 2022 to openly campaign against the PDP house of reps flag bearer openly, calling on the entire Oleh people to vote against our party’s candidate over a campaign altercations between individuals. This is unacceptable.
“It is of common knowledge that Delta State PDP has it that the PDP youth leader has toed this shameful path that calls for disciplinary actions.
“Victor Egbo could not monster the courage to challenge or reply candidates of the opposition who have been throwing tantrums on Gov Okowa, Sheriff Oborevwori and other PDP candidates but was quick to run to SDP campaign gathering to pitch the people against the very party that gave him platform as a youth leader. For us as Isoko Youths, we take serious exception to these ignoble act.
Do not forget that this same victor Egbo was the same person who packaged a Labour party faithful to gain cheap popularity by embarrassing our dear Governor and vice Presidential candidates over an appointment.
“As Youths our confidence is waning down on victor Egbo which is not a good omen ahead of elections.
“We are worried by this disloyal act that tends to bring our party to disrepute. Victor Egbo needs to show cause why he went that low. We are law abiding party loyalists calling for things to be done right as Victor Egbos action doesnt represent the true Isoko spirit.
“We urge our party at the state level to revise this issue and met appropriate sanctions to forestall such ludicrous vetuperation.”
