Dr Iluobe ‘s Murder: NMA demands thorough investigation, speedy justice
The Nigeria Medical Association has charged Operatives of the Delta State Police Command on thorough investigation and speedy justice over the murder of Dr Uyi Iluobe.
Dr Iluobe was the medical director of Olive medical center, Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State.
He was killed by unknown gunmen at the center, on 29th December, 2022.
The chairman of the State Chapter of NMA, Dr. Carter Okolakpa who spoke with Journalists, today, at Asaba, described the deceased as gentle, committed, dedicated and dutiful in carrying out his job.
Represented by his Vice Chairman, Dr. Anthony Okwunze, he expressed dismay at the hasty conclusion of the Police in regarding the killing as “a cult related matter”, while charging “ security agencies double up their efforts in bringing the perpetrators of this dastardly act to book speedily.’’
Lamenting the rising spate of work place violence particularly with health workers in the State, the chairman called on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, to do everything necessary to assist the family of the deceased and the entire medical Community in getting justice.
The Association however urged her members to remain calm in the hope that the State police Command will fish out the perpetrators of the heinous crime speedily.
