Oborevwori takes oath of office as Governor of Delta State

Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has taken the oath of office as the Governor of Delta State
The State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Theresa Diai , administered the relevant oath on Oborevwori, at Asaba, today.
In his inaugural Speech, Governor Oborevwori said he is accepting the responsibility to serve Deltans with the resolve to do more for Deltans.
He said ‘’As former Speaker with experience I am well positioned to deliver good governance to the people” pledging to run an open responsible and inclusive government.
While appreciating the immediate past Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his support and other Deltans for their contribution towards his emergence as Governor, he stated that he is Committed to making the lives of Deltans better.
Earlier, the former governor of the State, Sen. Dr. Okowa expressed gratitude for the fulfillment of goals set in 2015 and “because of a worthy successor”.
Saying that his past 8 years tenure was filled with trials and triumphs, he thanked those who joined hand to build stronger delta.
Acknowledging the legislature, judiciary, civil service, Organized labor, security, press, traditional rulers and Deltans for their support, he Commended all former governors for building a foundation he built on.
While celebrating his wife, Dame Edith Okowa and his children for their prayers, support encouragement and understanding, he Prayed that the Oborevwori led government will not only consolidate on his achievements but surpass them in the State.
