Delta State Commissioner for Works, Rural and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has clarified that projects in the state are targeted at meeting community needs, rather than ethnic nationality. He emphasized that Delta State is a unified entity, and projects are executed based on necessity, not ethnic affiliation
Addressing the concerns about the underdevelopment of Ijaw communities at a news conference held yesterday, at Asaba, Aniagwu emphasized that Delta State is a unified entity, and projects are executed based on necessity, not ethnic affiliation.
He highlighted various projects in health, roads, education, and other sectors, demonstrating the state’s commitment to equitable development.
Aniagwu cited the Ohoro/Bomadi road project, spanning 47 kilometers, as an example of the state’s efforts to address specific community needs.
He also mentioned the establishment of the Ministry of Riverine Infrastructure, aimed at promoting peace and development in riverine communities.
The commissioner assured that Governor Oborevwori treats all nationalities equally, and his administration is working to address the needs of all communities, including the Ijaw people.
