Expedite Action on Ayakoromor Bridge, Kiagbodo Technical College – IYC Tells Delta Govt.

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Western Zone, has called on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State to take swift action on the completion of the Ayakoromor Bridge and the Modern Technical College in Kiagbodo.

This call was made on Monday during an inspection visit to the project sites, led by the Chairman of the IYC Western Zone, Comrade Nicholas Igarama.

At the Modern Technical College in Kiagbodo, Igarama emphasized the need for an upward review of the contract and urged the state government to fully mobilize the contractor back to the site to ensure the project’s timely completion.

Regarding the long-abandoned Ayakoromor Bridge, Igarama expressed concern over the project’s neglect despite its significant role in the state’s economic and infrastructural development.

He questioned why such a vital project remains uncompleted, considering its importance to the region.

“We urge the Governor Oborevwori led Delta State Government to prioritize the Ayakoromor Bridge and the Modern Technical College in Kiagbodo, just as he does for projects in other parts of the state.

“These projects are crucial for the economic and infrastructural development of our communities, and their completion should not be delayed any further, ” Igarama said.

The IYC Western Zone further urged Governor Oborevwori to extend the same level of commitment to projects in Ijaw communities as seen in other parts of the state, stressing the need for equitable development across all regions.
