The long-awaited white smoke has finally emerged. After months of intense consultation, grassroots mobilization, and fervent appeals from market unions, youth groups, and community stakeholders, the news the people of Idemili North and South have been waiting for is finally here: Hon. Chuka Ezenwunne has answered the call.

It is no longer just a political ambition; the issue has changed to a public demand by the good people of Idemili North and South Federal Constituency. The people of Idemili North and South have finally and fully come to a realization. Hon. Chuka Ezenwunne is not just a politician or a leader seeking power for personal reasons; they now know that it has now become an answer to a long popular clarion call of the people. By submitting himself willingly for another time to the service of Idemili people, Hon Chuka Ezenwunne is not just responding to the overwhelming Macedonian call of his people but heeding that celestial biblical exhortation which called: “Who will I send and who will go for us?” The servant of the people, Hon. Chuka Ezenwunne answered: “Here I am, send me”.

This is no longer a mere political aspiration; it is a mission of rescue and representation. The declaration that “He has agreed to go” has sent a wave of relief and excitement across the constituency, from the busy streets of Obosi and Ogidi to the industrious hubs of Nkpor and Oraukwu, to even to the grass root subsistence agricultural studded communities like Nnobi, Ojoto, Alor, Uke, Awka-Etiti, Abatete, Umuoji, Ideani, Akwu Ukwu and others.

Leadership is not a role Hon. Ezenwunne takes lightly; it is rather the burden of choice willingly chosen for the singular reason of service to the communities and bloc that molded him. Having served with distinction at the Anambra State House of Assembly representing Idemili South, he understands that the Federal House of Representatives is not a place for “political tourism.” It is a battlefield for resources, a chamber for serious advocacy, and a platform where only the experienced can navigate the complex corridors of power in Abuja.

For months, Hon. Ezenwunne listened. He walked the streets, sat in the town halls, and heard the grievances of a people who feel that their federal voice has been too silent for too long. His decision to run is a response to that silence. He has agreed to go because he knows the terrain; he has agreed to go because he has the “Legislative Template” to deliver results.

When a tested and trusted legislative politician like Hon. Chuka Ezenwunne agrees to represent a federal constituency, the stakes change. The people of Idemili North and South understand perfectly what his choice of agreeing to go means for Idemili people entirely. For them, this is not a trial and error candidacy. It means the following:

Ready-to-Use Experience: Abuja will not be a learning ground. From Day One, Idemili will have a voice that knows how to move motions and sponsor bills that matter.

A Unified Idemili: His candidacy bridges the gap between North and South, ensuring that the developmental dividends are shared with equity and justice.

The Power of Connection: Using his vast network built over years of public service to attract federal projects in roads, education, and healthcare directly to our communities.

The slogan echoing across the constituency is clear: “Onye ma uzo, ka anyi ga-eso” (He who knows the way is the one we will follow). The people of Idemili North and South did not just ask for a politician; they asked for a servant-leader. They asked for someone whose door is always open and whose record is a testament to his integrity. The Idemili North and South electorates without equivocation have a very clear reason for their new choice for the Federal House of Representatives position. They do not want any opportunistic representative who will ride again on the back of his parental magic carpet to that highly sensitive positive that require tact, experience and down-t-earth lobbying skills to build bridges and bring back home what should be our democratic dividends home. The thing that two people saw cannot be hidden or covered by rumours or excesses of political hear-say. If you are brought up as a child to understand what others feel because yor grew up among them, then the dangers of puffed-up arrogance of rich parental cannot interfere as it is currently with thorough and people oriented representation which Hon. Chuka Ezenwunne brings to the table. Our people say: “Nwa akwo n’azu amaghi n’ije bu olu” (A child strapped on the mother’s back back can never understand how difficult trekking can be).

The consolation of the good people of Idemili North and South is that Hon. Chuka Ezenwunne has accepted the burden. He has accepted the challenge. He has agreed to stand in the gap for us in the Green Chamber for his own people. Our collective effort right now is to encourage him and make this project a reality. Beyond the fact that Idemili North and South Federal Constituency of Anambra State is such a very powerful Constituency to be trusted in the hand of a neophyte and inexperienced Legislator. The time is now to collect the baton from whoever has held it earlier and give it to the man who knows the road. Our people have said with one voice, enough of experimentations with the fate of the people who inhabit the nucleus of economic, political and educational life of Anambra State. ‘A spade is a spade and time for emotions and sentiments are over’, say the people.

To the good people of Idemili North and South, you in one voice called and say: “Who do we send and who will go for us?” Hon. Chuka Ezenwunne answered: “Here I am, send me!” Now that he has agreed to go for us, the responsibility shifts to us. The steam that is gathering must now turn into a flood of support. From the grassroots to the digital space, the message must remain consistent: Idemili has found its voice, and that voice is Hon. Chuka Ezenwunne.

He has agreed to go for us. Now, let us stand with him.
