Delta Govt. Releases 2026 Cognitive/Placement Examination Results

The Delta State Government has released the results of the 2026 Cognitive/Placement Examination, announcing that 112,543 candidates successfully passed the statewide examination conducted for primary school pupils seeking admission into junior secondary schools.

The Commissioner for Primary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu JP disclosed this in a statement, describing the successful release of the results as another demonstration of the State Government’s commitment to a transparent, credible and efficient examination process.

According to the Commissioner, a total of 117,834 candidates registered for the examination, while 117,183 were present and 651 were absent across the various examination centres in the state.

She further revealed that 112,543 candidates met the required standard and passed the examination, while 4,640 candidates did not attain the pass mark.

Mrs. Ezewu directed parents and guardians to obtain the access cards for checking their children’s results from the appropriate school heads at no cost, stressing that the process was designed to make result verification seamless and accessible.

She assured stakeholders that the Ministry remains committed to ensuring fairness, transparency and accountability in the conduct of all public examinations, in line with the more agenda for quality education of His Excellency,the Governor,Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Henry Akambe, said the marking exercise commenced immediately after the examination to guarantee accuracy, transparency and the prompt release of the results.

Also the permanent secretary commended the Director of Examinations and Standards, Mrs. Clementina Ojumah, and her team for standing tall through out the various stages of the exercise.

The 2026 Cognitive/Placement Examination was conducted on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in designated centres across the 25 Local Government Areas of the State, with the successful release of the results marking the completion of another important phase in the candidates transition process from primary to secondary education.
