Obasanjo Calls for Young Recruit in Sports, Commissions Projects in Delta
Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Delta State governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and some Traditional Rulers atAsaba
Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has called for young recruits to enhance sport activities in the Delta state.
Obasanjo who made the call today at the commissioning of the main bowl of the Steven Keshi stadium, Asaba, said that it is better to identify young persons and nurture their potential to fruition for the best result in sports.
He said “we must use this stadia to bring up your own people to be the best. Use the facilities you have to recruit those you will train from a young age”
He urged the State governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to build hostel within the stadia’s precincts to enhance thorough training for optimal result.
Governor Okowa in his address thanked the former President for his presence in the State.
Other projects commissioned include, the dualised old Lagos/Asaba road, from Emuhu junction to Agbor-Obi junction and the dualised Owei-Ekei/Owa-Alero road, from old Lagos/Asaba road to Owa-Alero round about.
