Okowa Presents Cheque To Spare Parts Association To Cushion Fire Disaster
The Delta State Government has presented a cheque of twenty million naira to members of Lower Erejuwah Motor Spare Parts Association Warri, Delta state as part of measures to cushion the effects of the fire disaster suffered by the Association in 2015.
Presenting the cheque, the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Festus Agas stated that the State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa decided to contribute to the rebuilding of their shops to revitalize their businesses.
Hon Agas noted that the spare parts dealers had been part and parcel of Delta state as they had been paying their taxes and contributing to the development of the state economy.
According to him, “Governor Okowa is a man who keeps to his promise” and urged the group to put the money to good use and for the purpose it was meant in order to justify State Government gesture.
The leader of the Association, Chief Michael Eze Nnajiofor, who received the cheque on behalf of the Association, thanked the State Government for the gesture and promised to use the money judiciously.
Chief Nnajiofor described the gesture as a fulfilment of promise given to the members of the Association when it was needed most
He assured the continued support of the Association to the State and Governor Okowa’s second term bid, adding that the association had never had it so good since inception of democracy in the state.
The ceremony was attended by some government functionaries including the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace Building and Rural Development, Chief Edwin Uzor.
