Onogba urges Deltans to maintain clean environment

Delta State Commissioner for environment, Mr Chris Onogba has urged Deltans to imbibe to the attitude of keeping a clean environment at all times.

The Commissioner made this known during a courtesy visit of Members of the Indigenous Correspoondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists led by Comrade Andy Emephia, at Asaba.

Mr Onogba explained that indiscriminate disposal of defaces the environment and hampers on other areas of development.

He said that a reorganization between the Private Sector Participant and residents is ongoing to enhance enforcement of waste disposal in the State.

He however advised the people to take ownership of their environment as a way of ensuring its protection for all.

On flooding, the commissioner noted that Government will not build camps for victims because of the Corona virus pandemic but committed to ameliorating the conditions of flood victims in the State.

He added that only communities along the coastal lines are likely to be affected with flood this year.
