Delta Gov. Elect Tasks Transition Committee on implementation plan for incoming govt’s policies, programs
Delta State Governor-elect, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has mandated newly inaugurated committee to set up the necessary structures and means to enable the incoming government to effectively implement its policies and programs from day one.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the 88 man committee, held yesterday, at Asaba, the governor elect said “they have been part of this journey and understand that the incoming the administration need to start on a sure footing”.
Oborevwori maintained that the inauguration of the transition committee marks the journey of the commencement of a new administration, adding that the it will ensure a smooth transition process to enable the next government hit the ground running from May 29, 2023.
Observing that members of the committee possesses the requisite knowledge, capacity, wisdom and experience essential for the assignment, he said that the committee is expected to set short, medium and long term target and accommodate any other critical sector that might have been left out as it relates to the MORE agenda.
He said that the group is expected to make recommendations in the following areas ; General administration and strategy, Fiscal policy and public finance, Infrastructure and utility, Human capital development, Social development and creative industry, Entrepreneurship and job creation.
Peace and security, Media and communication, Agriculture and industry, Environment, water resources and human settlement, Energy oil and gas were also included.
Responding, chairman of the committee Prof. Emmanuel Nwanze, said the group pocesses the diversity of people that can supply the required information for the task , adding that sub Committee will be put up.
Prof. Nwaze also pledged submit a technical report that will aid the incoming governor to pilot his administration while appreciating him for the opportunity to serve.
The committee which has Prof Hope Eghagha as Secretary has the following Members ; Dr Kingsley Emu, Dr Barry Gbe, Chief Sunday Onoriode, Chief Tilije Fidelis, Mr Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, Mr Johnbull Edema, Hon Samuel Mariere and Dr Kingsley Ashibuogu.
Engr Goodnews Agbi, Mr Abel Esievo, Mr Darlington Ijeh, Prince Kelly Penawou, Mrs Cordelia Anyangu, Hon Joan Adanioma, Hon Pally Eghovie, Hon Shola Daibo, Mrs Georgina Evah, Mrs Christabel Obiuwevbi, Philomena Ededey, Mrs. Shimitte Bello, Dr. Mrs. Evelyn Aluta, Mrs. Roseline Amioku, Hon.
