Agbi Says No Cause For Alarm Over Quality Of Materials For Flyover Bridges …Expresses Satisfaction at ongoing Construction Works by Julius Berger
The Special Adviser on project Monitoring to the Delta State Governor, Engr. Dr. Agbi , on Monday expressed satisfaction at the standard of construction works being done by construction giant,Julius Berger Nigeria Plc in the Warri axis of the State.
An elated Engr. Agbi stated his fulfillment at jobs being done by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc when he led his team of Engineers on inspection on the Design and construction of flyover Bridge from Enerhen junction, Effurun to Marine gate and flyover Bridge at the popular PTI junction along the East-West road.
Debunking the rumors making the rounds on the usage of substandard rods for the construction of the flyover bridges, Dr Agbi expressed confidence at the quality of materials being used for the construction Jobs, saying that there was no cause for alarm.
Engr Agbi and members of his team were received at the Julius Berger construction yard located at Osubi in Okpe Local Government Area, by the Project Manager, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, Mr Thomas Haug in company of resident Engineer from the Ministry of works, Engr. Emmanuel Oghoridje.
Critically examined by Dr Agbi at the construction yard were Pre cast materials, Lab , rods, Curing room and the structural design room.
The Special Adviser thereafter moved to the Julius Berger construction sites at PTI junction and DSC roundabout, where measurement of the rods showed 16mm as stipulated by the design.
Speaking to Journalists after the inspection, to Dr Agbi; “Last week there was a rumour making the rounds , especially on social media that Julius Berger Nigeria Plc was using being done with substandard materials. That it was not up to 16 , that it was 12, some people were even saying it was 10mm… But we have found out that it is not true. We are confident of the work being done here’’
The project manager, however assured that the construction work will meet with up the stipulated timeline, adding that there were no challenges.
The inspection team of the Special Adviser includes, Engr Ugboma Chukwumah , Engr Efe- Oghale Aluta, Engr Ken Isibor, Dr Victor Ikere, Mr Odio Odafe and Engr. Yebu Ladina.
