The Deputy Senate President and Delta State Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Ovie Omo-Agege has expressed dismay over the capacity of the gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in the state.

The APC governorship candidate disclosed this during a press conference, held at Asaba, today, to kick-start his campaign for the 2023 general elections.

He explained that his aspiration to become the governor of Delta State is beyond quest for power but a movement to liberate, rebuild and reinvigorate the State which ought to be a leading light in Niger Delta Region.

Omo- Agege who reeled out some alleged lapses in the Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa led administration said the problem of the State is rooted in bad leadership, misplaced priorities as well as gross incompetence

Stating that the offer of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as the governorship flagbearer of PDP is bad for the State, he noted that party’s decision exemplifies incompetence as well as bad judgement in everything that went wrong in the past seven years of the present administration.

“The hand pick of Sheriff Oborevwori is a clone of Okowa and will be a human disaster in Government house, his nomination championed by inept and corrupt administration is an insult to the sensibility of all Deltans .

“Delta state should not leave it’s destiny in the hands of a man who has no minds of it’s own and will continue to be Okowa stooge even as a Governor.

“Our main opponent will represent a third term for a failed Governor who ran out of ideas to develop the state”. He said.

He charged Deltans to “ reject leaders who will not be independent of Dr Okowa and the cabals that brought us to this sorry past”.

Also, the APC governorship candidate  alleged that Okowa led government has gulped over 2.8 trillion since inception, adding that “We are all Deltans, do we see anything on ground that is commensurate with the said amount, there is poverty and profound dilapidation from Asaba to Warri and environs”.

Continuing, “Most of the roads constructed by Okowa has failed and most times collapsed completely, such projects are recycled and awarded to cronies without a visionary and credible plan for sustainable and structural development plan”.

The Deputy Senate President however enjoined all Deltans to reject the “ imposition” made by Governor Okowa, observing that Delta state belongs to all Deltans.
