Ejinyere tasks Residents of Warri, environs on cleanliness

Director General of the Warri, Uvwie And Environs Special Area Development Agency ( WUEDA) Hon ( Prince) Godwin Ejinyere has tasked residents of Warri and evirons on the need to maintain cleanliness in their environment.

The WUEDA DG stated this during the congress of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Delta State Council, held yesterday, at Government House Annex, Warri.

Explaining the importance of cleanliness to the development of the area, Ejinyere stated that WUEDA is collaborating with the Local Government Councils within its jurisdiction to “ bring environmental sanity to the environment.”

The DG who was represented by his Media Assistant Dr Godwin Aradekpe said that the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori is passionate about developing Warri axis contrary to the rumour making the rounds that “ the Governor is not working “

Reeling out the achievements of the agency on flood control, road constructions, drain desilting , evacuation of waste, stakeholders engagement and others, he pledged his dedication to actualizing the Governor’s determination of restoring the lost glory of Warri in terms of cleanliness.

Advising builders to desist from building on Waterways, Hon Ejinyere vowed to arrest and prosecute anyone dropping dirt in the drains.
He maintained that the agency will ensure the enforcement of environmental laws through its task force and mobile courts to prosecute defaulters .

Expressing happiness at fraternizing with the NUJ , he wished the union a fruitful meeting.
